"A traveler am I and a     Navigator and everyday   I discover a new region within my Soul"

Khalil Gibran

My name is Maria Cecilia Stevenson and I am a self taught artist, art teacher, and a SoulCollage® Facilitator trained by Seena B. Frost, creator and author of SoulCollage®. I took the SoulCollage® training  in September 2004 in Santa Cruz, California.

Since childhood I have been interested in art, learning and experimenting with different techniques. I have been teaching art to children and adults for the last ten years: to abused girls and "at risk" teenagers at different Centers; to women in recovery at Addiction Centers; to the elderly at Nursing Homes. Under the wings of Cultural Development Group I implemented the"Open Art Studio Project: Painting with a Purpose", creating six panel canvas murals to be donated to Institutions in need of cheerfulness, following the lead of John Feight and "Hospitalart Foundation", and working with Miami Bridge, Charlee Program, Agape Addiction Center, Unity Church, Girl Power, and Felowship House among others.
All my life I have been gathering images that "call my name", and I have been interested in personal exploration and collage since always to finally get to the point where everything fell into place, where images and spiritual work blend beautifully and magical as One: this is SoulCollage®.

Besides teaching art I enjoy making mosaics, ceramics, glass painting, stained glass, fabric collages and textil weaving, acrylic painting, decoupage. As you can see art is my passion. I am also a foster mom for rescued dogs and cats volunteering with MDRR.

I live in Miami, Fl with my husband and son, our two dogs, three cats and two sugar gliders.
